There is no voyage without peril. There is no adventure without the unforeseen. There is no life without risk. Shipwreck is the highly experimental, highly unstable edition of Odyssey. It's practically my personal working copy — where I test updates and changes to every program before they ever reach Odyssey itself. Parts of Shipwreck, once stable, make their way into the 2027 Edition, due November 2026.

The full stack — ~2000 packages from the Odyssey repository, recompiled for security and speed — -march=x86-64-v3 with AVX2 and FMA hot paths, aggressive optimization with LTO where it holds, hardened with FORTIFY_SOURCE=3, stack-protector-strong and full RELRO. Every package rides on the BORE-scheduled linux-ether kernel, reproducible bit-for-bit, cosign-signed, logged on Rekor. This is what lands in the 2027 Edition, releasing November 2026. Beyond that, for the 2028 Edition (November 2027), nothing is set in stone yet — but there will be btrfs snapshots, a system I've been calling Time Travel (thank you, Guix), and whatever the Argonauts and I decide along the way.

Shipwreck isn't really a wreck — it's a personal experimental distro where nothing is guaranteed. A new ISO ships roughly every 40 days. You'll even find two Control Centers, alpha and beta, and two copies of every Odyssey program: one tracking what's new in the current Odyssey, one alpha for what's being tested in the versions still to come.
