how this thing gets built

Any organisation or community without rules is neither an organisation nor a community. Apply that to an engineering project like a Linux distribution and it gets simpler: a distribution without an organisation behind it is not a distribution. It is an ISO that installs. Maybe.

THE DOCUMENTS

What I am trying to do is build a structure that channels the will, the passion, the skills and the affection of everyone taking part in the same direction, without wasting anyone's time getting to the best result.

Nothing bureaucratic. Odyssey is a friendly project, take it easy. Just with a bit of common sense, intelligence and practicality.
